What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a conservative, hands-on healthcare profession with an emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. The musculoskeletal system includes: muscles, joints, nerves, ligaments, tendons, bones and how they all function together. Your chiropractic care may involve the use of adjustments, or spinal manipulative therapy, to help reduce pain and improve mobility, so you can return to the activities you love.
What is an Adjustment?
An adjustment is a highly skilled and precise movement usually applied by the hand to the vertebrae of the spine or other joints of the body. Adjustments may be used to help restore normal motion to restricted joint segments (improving range of motion), help to reduce pain and reduce local muscle tightness. Depending on the nature of your problem, your chiropractor may also utilize joint mobilizations, muscle release techniques, muscle stimulation and therapeutic exercises to relieve your pain and get you moving again.
